Site Visit - Shakespeare Theater's Sidney Harman Hall

The other day I had the opportunity to visit the Sidney Harman Hall located in the 19th century neighborhood of Penn Quarter.  The venue is just steps from Capitol attractions like the National Mall and the National Gallery of Art. The Orchestra and Mezzanine lobby areas are stunning open spaces with glass walls looking out over the Verizon Center. Both areas also have built in bars and flat screen TVs that are perfect to display video clips of the bride and groom.  They even have cool show listing signs outside the theater that can be changed to welcome guests or have pictures of the newlyweds.

This space would be ideal for 150 guests where you could have cocktails on the Orchestra level, a seated dinner on the Mezzanine level, and then back to Orchestra for dancing, lounge space and of course the wedding cake.

Here are some images I took. They were setting up props that day so disregard the armor.

One of my favorite local photographers, Kate Triano, shot a stunning wedding there in 2008. Below are some of her images.

Worldwide Wednesdays - New Asia Bar in Singapore

During my time in Singapore, I had time to visit The Stamford, a Swissotel, which is Southeast Asia's tallest hotel.  The New Asia bar which is located on 70th and 71st floor of the hotel has stunning panoramic views of Singapore, Indonesia and Malaysia.  All I can say is amazing with views of Singapore’s skyline from every side, lush furnishings, a stunning chandelier, and cool lighting, this would be an amazing spot for an ultra chic and sexy reception.

Worldwide Wednesdays

I'm traveling around Singapore right now (still hoping to make a stop at the  Chocolate Research Factory from last weeks post), and I'm sure to bring back tons of images and items for great inspiration. Today I designed a board for you around some plumprettysugar fitted caftans made from fabric she picked up in India. I love the patterns and the flowy feel!

I thought I'd post a few of our image from the recent New Years wedding we had the pleasure of coordinating. Obviously our images won't compare to the professional ones by Connor Studios, but these will give you a little taste.

Platinum and Plum

Welcome 2010!  We have a lot of new things planned for 2010 and hope to reveal them soon, but in the meantime we will continue our goal to inspire. One of our stunning 2010 brides is planning a platinum & plum inspired affair. I love this color combination and haven't seen it used very often. I can't wait to see this wedding come together. What color combinations do you love for 2010?
