Ring in the Holiday Season

Before I sign off for the holiday I wanted to leave you with a ring shot that has a wonderful winter feel.  I have a bunch to do before everyone get here for the holidays, but I'll be back next week with more inspiration.  I wish you all a warm, cozy, and safe holiday!

Worldwide Wednesdays

Since I'm about to be leaving for a trip to Singapore and India, I thought I would use a wonderful store in Singapore as inspiration for a beautifully colorful wedding.  I think this is by far my favorite of the year!

The store is the Chocolate Research Factory and they have a stunning array of wrappings for their chocolate.  Imagine using these beauties as favors for your guests. Love!

Bring in the Green

With so much white snow outside I thought I'd brighten the day with a little green inspiration.  Beautiful eco-friendly options exist for everything from decor, flowers, favors, invites, and so much more. You can now have a stunning wedding and feel good about your impact on the Earth after the big day is over.  Think of locally grown in season  flowers, recycled paper and earth friendly printing methods, and favors that your guests can use for a lifetime like and reduce their own footprints on the Earth like the cute Earth Lust bottles.

Retro Fun

How fun is this picture of an old stationary bike!  With the holidays in full gear and all those great parties and appetizers, I decided to create a board based on this fun retro exercise bike.  Vintage striped straws, old lighted signs, and badminton. How Fun!

Worldwide Wednesdays

A few weeks ago I saw an amazing little gem of a fireplace by swedish designer Fredrik Hylten-Cavallius, and it is stunning!  Since it's chimney free you can easily use something like this for an outdoor wedding to create a very comfy lounge space with oversized couches and chairs.

Light filled Weddings

I heart the use of lights for outdoor weddings, from white Christmas lights strung across the dance floor to lanterns lining paths and hanging votives from the trees. Lights can be used in so many unique fashions to create a romantic, festive, or even a playful vibe for your event.  More recently I saw "Twilight" the movie which had an amazing outdoor pergola covered in lights.  How great would that be for your first dance?

I also love the custom made delight sign that was made from a simple board and christmas lights. You could easily use the instruction on Design Sponge to create a similar boards with your wedding date, your names, and if your thinking about an evening ceremony and are up for the challenge, you could make one that serves as a program. How cute would a program made from lights be?

The cutest photo of a baby porcupine by  Sharon Montrose inspired this texture filled board. I always love the use  of different textured materials to create a unique look and feel for an event.

Sunny & Red Wedding Board - Inspired by Laura Ivanova

I recently came across a super fun holiday engagement session by Laura Ivanova and it inspired me to create this red and sunny inspiration board.   I'm loving the color combination and those yellow billy balls are so fun by themselves or in mixed floral arrangements. Plus the dog with the tie is just too adorable.

Warm and Cozy - Open Air Photography

I came across this great image by Katie at Open Air photography and I just love it!  I'm an animal lover above all and the image just makes me smile. I used Katie's image as a starting point for a warm and cozy board and the final result makes me want to curl up with a blanket and my dogs for a nap.  Also who says you can't serve your favorite pancakes at your wedding?

Worldwide Wednesdays

Worldwide Wednesdays showcases items, artists, or designers from around the globe that inspire me. Since I'm headed off to Singapore and India in a few weeks, when I came across this image of a stunning sari with a multitude of colors, I immediately knew it was perfect to start this series with.  How lovely would a seating area with classic couches and a mix of vibrant sari fabric pillows look?

MS Details Hearts JL Designs

My jaw dropped when I saw the loveliness of JL Designs holiday collection.  I immediately created a board  around one of Carissa's designs. The gorgeous ornate vessel and the colors of the succulents is so yummy.

Backyard BBQ Wedding

I have an amazing couple planning a very untraditional wedding in August. The wedding is inspired by fun backyard barbecues of childhood with lots of friends and family to kick back and celebrate the newlyweds. Here are some images that inspire us.

Natural Wedding Inspiration

I love our 2010 brides and I'm so excited by what we're planning for their big days! One bride in particular is planning a simple natural wedding that includes her dad building a birch huppah and lots of river rocks, mason jars, and ribbons. With to goal to inspire our bride, I pulled together a few images from some fabulous wedding vendors.   If you want a natural feel to your event, wood can be used in so many unique ways from place cards, aisle decor, escort cards holders, candle holders and stands, and even furniture.   Some vendors that have amazing wood products include Oslo Press, Tiny Pine Press, and Small Stump

A Ritz Affair

We recently received some professional image from Visual Sketch Photography of Kelly and Scott's October wedding at the Ritz Carlton in Tyson's Corner. The event was a mix of traditional and modern, with a 1964 white Rolls Royce and vibrant orchids and crystals creating a magical feel.  Here are some of our favorite images. I love the shot of Kelly, she looks like she having the time of her life!

2010 Green Acres Inspiration - Wedding 360 Contest

Happy Turkey Day!
I recently entered a contest sponsored by Wedding 360 where they are challenging creativity. The submission required a description and inspiration board that designs a wedding for a couple reminiscent of the show Green Acres, with Lisa, a glamorous wife and Oliver, a traditional farmer type.

So here is the board I created and to read some of the description please visit the Wedding 360 blog.
