Kathryn and Andy - Married! - Whitehall Manor

In late October Kathryn and Andy were married at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Gainesville followed by a beautiful reception at Whitehall Manor in Bluemont,Virginia.  Because of the distance between the two locations, Kathryn knew hiring a coordinator would help make their day stress-free and take care of all the little details such as her DIY centerpieces consisting of tree trunk slivers, cylinder vases wrapped with raffia and leaf details with floating candles, and birch wrapped votives.   

It was a picture perfect fall day as they said I do, and I personally loved the dresses and suits that Kathryn and Andy picked out for their entire bridal party. The long chocolate dresses with ruffle back detail and the navy suits with striped ties looked perfect. All the girls got ready at Carlos Salon & Spa and the salon did an amazing job with Kathryn's hair. Connie's Cake Creations created a lovely lace detailed cake and Evan from MyDeejay kept everyone on the dance floor all night long.  Mark Kent Photography captured these images from the day. 

Karli & Rich Married and Featured on Style Me Pretty!

In early September of this year we helped design and coordinate Karli and Rich's fall wedding at Whitehall Manor in Bluemont, Virginia. Karli looked drop dead gorgeous in her Legends by Romona Keveza dress, and her bridesmaids strutted their stuff in chic deep red dresses by Aria Dress.  Holly Chapple Flowers created the picture perfect bouquets and flowers, and Tracy at Timmester Photography captured all the details, including Karli's grandparents as they patiently waited for the ceremony to begin.  The gorgeous fall wedding was just featured in Style Me Pretty and we think it deserves the attention. Kerry & Josh's Wedding Details - Aqua and Red

I promised that I would post the images, by Mary Kate McKenna, of all the details that went into Kerry and Josh's wedding at Hotel Monaco in Alexandria and here they are.  

With Kerry's Mom and Step Dad living in France, Josh growing up in England,  his parents and many of the couples friends living abroad, traveling was a big part of this wedding. Kerry purchased cute mini suite cases from Paper Source to use as the card box.  They ended up being the perfect props for her red shoes as she was getting ready.  The maids bouquets from Barbara at Growing Wild were delicate and I loved the slight hint of red in the white blooms. All the paper products were handmade by Kerry, including an amazing city map of Alexandria. 

Edible favors were boxed and carefully tied with red and white ribbon.  Each favor had custom name tags attached.  For the escort card table, the favors were lined up in front of custom tent cards that included a picture and the name of a DC neighborhood in which the guests table was named. Kerry also made custom runners for the guest and cake tables, and individual red paper poms that were tied around each napkin with red and white stripped twine.  Lara at Fluffy Thoughts Cakes made their 3 tier cake which was decorated to match Kerry's custom invitations. In addition the cake was displayed on a cake stand with red ribbon woven through the edge detail. The various little love birds were purchased on etsy along with Kerry's custom birdcage veil shown  here. 

Fluffy Thoughts Cakes - New Home!

Lara at Fluffy Thoughts Cakes has made a number of my brides stunning and delicious cakes over the years and I was ecstatic to hear that she was opening a retail space that offers freshly baked goods including my favorite treat French macaroons. Lara actually made some amazing green tea macaroons for Kim and Kwang's wedding favors that were to die for.   


Lara's new bakery features a stunning private tasting room for brides and grooms to taste custom wedding cakes and you can even reserve the room for private events such as tea parties and bridal showers. I must say this space is just my style and I'm loving those light fixtures!  

The new location of Fluffy Thoughts Cakes is 1320 Old Chain Bridge Road, McLean, VA 22101 and the bakery will be open 9am to 6pm, Monday – Saturday with the private tastings available by appointment.

Cynthia and Ben Married!

I recently received the professional image from Connor Studios of Cynthia and Ben's New Years Eve wedding and they are stunning! Connor Studios did a great job of capturing the moments throughout the night and all the beautiful details.  I especially love the image of the flower girl looking over her dad's shoulder as the dance they night away. Such a magical image!

Pretty in Pink at Stone Manor in Frederick MD

We had the honor of coordinating Kim and Kwang's wedding at Stone Manor near Frederick Maryland, and it was a great event. The weather was a little hit or miss in the morning, but we willed great weather and that is exactly what we got. The clouds blew past and we had a beautiful blue sky and a spectacular sunset over the surrounding hills.

Kim planned an Asian fusion event with pink up-lights, lounge furniture, rice paper parasol and hand fans for guests. Fusion Cuisine was amazing to work with and guest raved about their food. Lastly, Fluffy Thoughts provided a stunning cake and green tea and lemongrass macaroons as favors for each guest.
I can’t wait to see the professional Photo's by Laura at Exclamation Imagery, but for now here are some of the details and images from the event.

The stuning reception flowers and vibrant aisle flowers were provided by Bloom Affair. The personal flowers, ceremony and pergola flowers and the bar were provided by Da Vinci's Florist, and the lounge furniture & lighting came from Gala Events.

Our Favorite Cupcakes!!!

Let's just say that we've tasted many cupcakes and wedding cakes in our day and with out a doubt, the most wonderful, melt in your mouth, stay moist for days, creamy, luxurious cupcakes we have ever had the pleasure of tasting are the famous Georgetown Cupcakes. My husband has ruined so many diets by bringing a box home and I just can't say no. If you are ever in Georgetown, I promise you will not be disappointed after standing in the long line that always winds around the block to get your hands on one of these beauties (or maybe two).

The calories are just plain worth it! Yum!
